SELLING CORPORATE AUSTRALIA ON AUSTRALIAN FASHION
When the National Retail Association needed a sponsorship manager for Australia’s premier fashion
event, the Australian Fashion Design Awards and
Festival, they turned to shac.
Since 2005, shac has secured more than $5m in sponsorship for the national event including a six-year naming rights deal with AMP Capital Shopping Centres that returned an average of eight times the value of the sponsorship.
COMMUNICATING ‘CAN-DO’ CAMPBELL’S TRAFFIC VISION TO THE PEOPLE OF BRISBANE
In 2006, shac played an integral role in the historic RiverCity Motorway consortium selected to build, finance and operate Lord Mayor Campbell Newman’s first tunnel CLEM7 (formerly the North-South Bypass Tunnel) under Brisbane.
In addition to being the first privately funded toll road
in Brisbane, RiverCity Motorway under took the largest capital raising in the state’s history, through an initial
public offering on the ASX.
shac worked closely with the RCM team on the IPO and devised and implemented a comprehensive communications and community engagement program for the $2bn project that included strategic government relations advice, media and crisis management, issues management, strategic financial media and investor relations, event management, community engagement, stakeholder education and comprehensive driver education campaign.
AWAKENING AUSTRALIAN EXPORTERS TO THE FINANCE AND INSURANCE SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO THEM
Australia’s export credit agency, Export Finance Insurance Corporation, plays a leading role in helping
Australian exporters overcome barriers to export. They
came to shac when they needed a strategic approach to their public relations activities.
In a tightening credit market, EFIC’s role has increased. shac works with the EFIC team at a strategic and tactical level to raise awareness and through activities that continue to build the reputation of EFIC and its expertise in key market segments nationally and internationally.
MAKING SCIENCE MAINSTREAM AND FIRING THE IMAGINATION OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF AUSTRALIAN SCIENTISTS
The Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research entrusts the promotion of Australia’s largest festival, National Science Week to the team at shac.
Each year shac works with the Science Awareness Branch in the Department on National Science Week,
the associated National Tour and the Prime Minister’s
Prizes for Science to open the wonders of the scientific
world to everyday Australians.
shac is engaged to undertake media, event anagement, talent securement, sponsorship securement and co-ordination and design for a range of national collateral.
Last year, shac’s work increased media outcomes for National Science Week by 15%, generated over 1,650 media stories and more than $5.2m in coverage with an audience reach of 55 million for the festival nationally.
BREATHING LIFE BACK INTO AUSTRALIA’S PEAK HOSPITALITY ENGINEERING BODY
The Australian Institute of Hotel Engineering called on shac to help build their profile, increase membership and their relevance within the industry.
For shac, this meant the development of a 5-year
strategic plan in consultation with the Committee and the roll-out of an ambitious program of activities that includes a new-look national conference, quarterly magazine, a new website and a range of enhanced membership services.
In addition to event managing the national conference, shac is responsible for the sale of conference packages to exhibitors, the sale of new membership packages to hotel chains nationally and the roll-out of new membership services.
With the conference already well subscribed, shac will begin publishing the Institute’s new look magazine. In addition to the design and development of the publication, shac is responsible for attracting 100% of the advertising revenue for the publication.
PUTTING THE GOLD COAST ON THE GLOBAL MAP AS A PRIME BUSINESS DESTINATION

When people think of the Gold Coast, it’s almost always as Australia’s favourite holiday playground. Engaged by the Gold Coast City Council’s Economic Development Branch, shac works to promote the Gold Coast as a viable destination for business.
Across nine key industry sectors, shac works to promote the Council’s investments attraction strategies and industry development initiatives.
This positive profiling by shac has included a series of stories about the Gold Coast as a destination for Business as well as pleasure.
